Pictionary Word Generator

Pick a difficulty, a few categories and a timer, then let the drawer reveal a random word in private and hide it again before drawing. Start the clock, mark the guess Correct or Skip, and the next unused word is ready — with team scores, a fullscreen mode for the big screen and no sign-up.

Pictionary word generator

Fullscreen puts the card, timer and scores on a TV or projector. Once the drawer has read the word, press Hide word so the room cannot see it.

Keyboard: Space starts or pauses the timer · Enter reveals · C correct · N skip · F fullscreen · Esc exits

How to play in three steps

  1. Set up the round

Choose Easy, Medium, Hard or Mixed, tick the categories you want, pick the audience and set a timer. The counter shows how many words match.

  2. Reveal the word in private

The card starts hidden. Only the drawer presses Reveal word, reads it, and presses Hide word again if the screen is shared. Then start the timer.

  3. Score and move on

Press Correct when the team guesses it or Skip to give up. The generator picks a new word that has not been used yet, and in team mode the next team is up.

Quick Pictionary rules

Split into two or more teams. One player per team is the drawer for the round; everyone else on that team guesses.

  • The drawer looks at the secret word, starts the timer and draws. No letters, numbers, spoken hints or gestures.
  • Teammates shout guesses until they say the exact word or time runs out. A correct guess scores one point.
  • Play passes to the next team. Rotate drawers so everyone gets a turn.
  • Agree on a target — the first team to 10 points, or the most points after a set number of rounds, wins.

Sixty seconds per round suits most groups; use 90 seconds for hard words or younger kids and 30 seconds for a fast party round.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Pictionary word generator work?

Every word in the bank is tagged with a difficulty, one or more categories and an audience. Your setup filters the bank down to a pool, and the generator draws one random word from that pool. A word is not shown again until every word in the pool has been used, then the pool is shuffled and starts over.

Is it free and do I need an account?

Yes, it is free and there is nothing to sign up for. Your setup and the running game are stored only in your browser, so a page reload does not lose your scores.

Can I use it on a TV or projector without showing the word?

Yes. Put the page in fullscreen, let the drawer reveal the word and press Hide word before drawing. The card then shows only that a word is hidden while the timer, the active team and the scores stay on the big screen.

What is the difference between Easy, Medium and Hard words?

Easy words are single concrete things a child can draw in under a minute, such as cat or pizza. Medium words are more specific objects, animals, places and jobs. Hard words are abstract ideas, actions and situations like traffic jam or stage fright.

Which words are safe for kids?

Choose the Kids audience. It uses all the easy words plus medium and hard words reviewed for children, and leaves out anything aimed at adults.

Can I share my setup with another player?

Yes. Copy setup link puts your difficulty, categories, audience, timer and team-mode choice in the link. It never contains the secret words, scores or team names.
